“AN ANCIENT DEVICE BECAME HANDY FOR MODERN MATHEMATICS”

About Abacus & Course Details

The adage “old is gold” has been further authenticated in the case of Japanese Soroban (Abacus), developed around 450 yrs ago being used by ICMAS as an education tools for enhancing mental ability in children. Soroban (Abacus) is defined rectangular shape instrument lined with 23 vertical rods fitted with beads. A horizontal rods in the upper deck of the Soroban (Abacus) frame, divides one bead on the top & the other 4 below. Each of the beads on the upper deck of the horizontal bar & the lower beads are represented by the unique value, which they derive when each of the beads touch the bar.

The Soroban (Abacus) essentially teaches the children to become skilled in rapid mental mathematics with the help of the Soroban (Abacus) beads where the children use the single hand to manipulate beads initially. This is done through memorizing a visual through the Soroban (Abacus) as a mathematical sum. This concept of thinking in picture enables children to achieve high level of speed, efficiency, accuracy, concentration and increase in memory power.

The learning of Soroban (Abacus) emphasizes the mental development from concrete to the conceptual, formal & symbolic which is the same process as Piaget’s and cognitive theory.

The children in the world seem to have a tendency of disliking calculation. But the basics of life are made from calculation. Children who dislike calculation may not necessary became the failure of life, but they do tend to have difficulties in life & might result to delay in the development of the brain function relative to calculation.

By teaching Soroban (Abacus) mental arithmetic child will improve their use of the arithmetic rules by twice in speed once they obtain this ability. Soroban (Abacus) mental arithmetic is all about ‘tapping the full potential of the child’…

“AN ANCIENT DEVICE BECAME HANDY FOR MODERN MATHEMATICS”

In the ongoing age of chaos in handling the arithmetical problems among our children, we are proud enough to introduce the state of nature’s creativity and the first of its kinds in India, a new concept namely “International Concepts in Mental Arithmetic System” shortly called ICMAS. It is an international concept for high valued –added quality training system. ICMAS is a unique and scientifically proven concept among so many nation that has help millions of children to develop memory, concentration, listening, and mental calculation and to over come their phobia for mathematics. With enhanced memory, concentration, comprehension and self-confidence, ICMAS children get over examination blues and other emotional problems caused by exam-related tensions. This program is meant for the normal child aged between 4+ till 14 years.

This is also a programme known for mental development so as to have creativity and discovering mental power of the child at an early stage. Though it is an ancient concept after rigorous and continuous research it has proved that this concepts has been successful in developing the overall excellence in academic of children.

ICMAS programmed prepares the children initially, in the ancient arts of mental arithmetic using a tool, which is old Japanese & Chinese medieval calculator called “Soroban (Abacus)” for stimulation and balanced development of both left and right hemisphere of the brain. With his deft and coordination movement of fingers and quick reflexes child greater speed , accuracy in mathematical calculation , essential for success in this high competitive world….

ICMAS have been steadily and healthy since its establishment in the year 2003. The company has established its presence all across the nation in major cities & states.

“GOALS OF ICMAS FOR ITS STUDENT”

When is the Best Learning Age for Children?

ICMAS is well structured for children of 4 – 12 years because this is the best time to explore & enhance the children’s intelligence. According to the analysis on the development of nervous tissues, the development & growth of the nerves will begin since 4 to 6 years old with a quickest speed, the progression will slow down after 12 years old when growth reach to 75%. A child at the age 5 grows muscles in his hands speed up the growth at 8 or 9 years. This time is best suited to drive beads of Soroban (Abacus) when their hands are very much flexible. The children at the age of 4-12 have more imagination & quicker learning ability.

But when they grow old their thought will be complicated & rational and think mainly with the left-brain. Creativity will be at its highest when both the brains are communicating & cooperating with each other. The so-called “readiness “of learning doesn’t totally rely on physical or biological maturity of children.

Children are equipped with certain knowledge & great opportunity to lead them into another stage of learning .The early inspiration of wisdom & learning helps unearth talent, shortens the unnecessary time of learning & accomplishes their learning goal.

Research shows that a child ‘s mental growth is more rapid before the age of 12(Please refer to the graph listed). The degree of mental development achieved by a child during this time has a great influence over his/her future. A child who has received good mental formation by the age of 12 will continue to remain brilliant even up to the age of 70.Whereas a child who lacks this formation can experience a sharp decline in mental abilities even as early as 20.
